This is THE best pizza dough recipe.
1/3oz (10g) dried yeast
5fl oz (150ml) lukewarm water
8oz (250g) flour
1 teaspoon salt
Mix 2 tablespoons flour with 3 tablespoons of lukewarm water in a large bowl and stir until combined.
Sprinkle the yeast over and stir until yeast has dissolved.
Leave the dough for approx 5 minutes for the yeast to activate. A foam will form on the surface.
Stir the dough before adding the remaining flour and water. Use a wooden spoon to stir the mixture and continue stirring until the flour has almost all been absorbed. Alternatively, the mixture can be mixed using the dough hook of an electric mixer.
Turn the dough onto a floured work surface and knead for about 5 minutes.
When the dough is smooth and elastic, put it back in the bowl and cover with a thin coating of olive oil. Cover with a cloth and leave in a warm, draught-free place until the dough doubles in size (approx 2 hours).
When the dough has rise knock it back by punching your fist into the middle of the dough.
Turn dough once again onto a floured work surface and roll to the desired shape and size.
This quantity will make a pizza which would be the size of a large dinner plate. (1-2 persons).
